Name Eve Martelli Meaning
Eve:
From the Hebrew name Chavvah, which was derived from the Hebrew word chavah "to breathe" or the related word chayah "to live". (Eve is not short for anything, but people insist on calling her things like Evangeline, Evie, Eva, etc.)
Martelli: Means "hammer" from the Late Latin marcellus, this probably denoted a person who worked as a smith.
Gender Female
Age 19 Birth Date March 30. (Aries)
Blood Type AB
Birth Place Pittsburgh, PA
Occupation Office Assistant, Department of Art. Eve made sure that she completed her Work Study application early this year so she didn't end up doing office work for the Math Department again. (She gets enough skeptical looks about her major from her grandfather, thanks.) Student Involvements None Academic Standing Second year Sophomore
Major Art (Sculpture). Eve considers herself to be a "functional artist" and wants to build pieces that are not only aesthetically pleasing, but also exist beyond simply "looking pretty." While this generally means architectural pieces, she has been known to create some well-received jewelry pieces. Currently Eve has been accepted into the B.A. in Arts program. This year she'll be working on building up a portfolio to submit for hopeful acceptance into the B.F.A.
in Arts program with a concentration in Sculpture. (Her favorite material to work with is decidedly metal.) She is dreading having to take Life Drawing and struggled embarrassingly through Beginning Drawing last year.
Schedule
ART 330 - Introduction to Molten Glassworking (5) / Though planning to go the sculpture route rather than glass, Eve has highly anticipated getting to take this course. She seems to have a natural aptitude for art forms that involve fire and she's never had an opportunity to work with glass in an academic setting. (Gluing pieces of bottle glass onto a sculpture when she was ten doesn't count.) If all goes well, she hopes to petition to do a glass studio course in place
of one of her sculpture ones senior year.
ART 300.01 - Introduction to Photography (Film Camera) (5) / Eve isn't a big fan of any art form that she can't put her hands around, but compared to the other required second year courses, photography seemed like the least painful and she'd like to start the year on a high note. This one is also less reliant on her ability to draw a straight line.
HISTORY OF ART 216 - Introduction to African Art and Archaeology (5) / Nnenna would be so proud. Actually, the only reason she chose this as her second Art History foundation course is because it also qualified as a social diversity credit. Her previous Art History course dealt with art of the Ancient World. (Shockers.) Eve does find African art to be very intriguing in how different it is from traditional Western art. EDU PAES 139.11 - Rock Climbing (1) / Finding
a physical activity that doesn't involve a lot of running around can be difficult, particularly for someone who isn't a huge fan of swimming. Boasting a great deal of upper body strength, rock climbing seems like an ideal fit for Eve in terms of both physical activity as well as exposing her to various outdoor aesthetics.
Likes Getting her hands dirty, solving mechanical problems, 3-D puzzles, satin-y fabrics, "girly drinks", chocolate lava cake, sweets in general, hot showers, the first Star Trek series, muscle cars
Dislikes Tearjerkers, melodramas, dorm dramas, getting caught in the rain without an umbrella, girly emotions, sleeping through her alarm, clothing that exposes her legs, jewelry that uses cheap metals, frivolous spending - particularly on meals Hobbies Going out with friends, playing building things out of her food (yum, saltine cracker house), sculpture, helping her grandfather work on his car & getting covered in grease, grumping about frivolity
Skills
3-D Artwork; From a very young age Eve has expressed an interest in a very hands-on creative process. She began with hammering pieces of wood together and as the years progressed has now fully embraced metalworking and really loves anything that gets her working directly with fire. (Kiln firing just isn't the same.) Though she works in rougher, more masculine inclined materials, her works often have a feminine quality to them. Drawing and painting classes have always been
the bane of her artistic existence, though painting is easier for her to BS her way through as it requires less precision. She simply doesn't have the patience for or the inclination to improve her drawing skills. As an aside, though it very much is a hands-on artform, Eve has never expressed any interest in picking up a needle and thread and her Grandmother is a little disappointed she never wanted to help her with quilting.
House of Cards; A totally frivolous skill, but Eve is quite skilled at building structures out of cards and other things that rely entirely on balance, i.e. Jenga. With cards, quite skilled moreso means that she can do this at all and she certainly isn't building ten foot tall card skyscrapers. As it seems with everything, Eve would rather build a smaller, aesthetically pleasing structure than just seeing how tall she can stack the cards.
As for Jenga, she's the reigning dorm champion.
Italian; That is, understanding Italian. Growing up in a household with two native speakers, Eve was exposed to a lot of Italian. Despite this, she was raised to speak English and thus while she has a strong listening comprehension, she is incapable of stringing together coherent sentences in Italian beyond basic thoughts such as "I'm hungry." Thus conversations in the Martelli household appear very strange to an outsider, with her grandparents speaking in Italian while Eve
responds in English. While she understands most Italian, she would likely struggle if she went to Italy, being unfamiliar with Italian spoke by pretty much anyone but her grandparents. (Though she would likely be able to muddle through most of a newspaper.) Eve's accent when she attempts to speak Italian is atrocious.
Practical; It would be impossible to talk about Eve without first discussing her practicality. It seems to rule everything from her decision-making process to her design aesthetic. While hardly Spartan, Eve becomes easily frustrated when, for example, a roommate stalls everyone from going out another ten minutes because she's debating which pair of shoes makes her look sexier. Which, of course, would frustrate most anyone, but rather than going in and helping
the roommate decide which pair looks best, Eve is likely to stand around getting huffy until she finally storms in, grabs the closest pair of shoes and forcefully drags said roommate out of the room with a grunted, "If it covers your feet, that's all that matters." This seems to be her rationale with everything - a thirty dollar steak doesn't fill her empty stomach any moreso than a ten dollar bowl of pasta or a four dollar fastfood burger and she simply can't cost justify the difference in taste for
such a momentary thing. What is practical and what is frivolous to Eve is entirely subjective, though it generally has to do with usefulness as well as price.
"Say what you mean and mean what you say"; Eve is absolutely terrible at intrigue and manipulations. Her personality is very straight-forward, very rarely engaging in double-talk (compliments are a noteable exception), and is perhaps the sort of person that could be described as honest to a fault. This does not mean that she is naive, but rather that she has a tendancy to be very blunt. As a person who prefers to be told straight-up what a person thinks rather than beating around the bush,
she is often left confused when someone
reacts poorly to something she says. Rather than being apologetic for hurting someone's feelings, she generally falls back on grumbling that the other person is 'too damn sensitive' instead of taking fault herself.
Unromantic; As can be assumed from the previous paragraph, Eve is horrible at flirtations. Her previous relationships have only occurred thanks the other party being very direct about their intentions and one ex-boyfriend liked to joke that he had to shove his tongue down her throat before she finally got the message. (Eve insists this is an exaggeration.) Of course, why these people had any interest in being in a relationship with her is a mystery to Eve. She has no interest
in candle-lit dinners and walks on the beach and has never once said "I love you" to someone she was involved with, even if the relationship had lasted several months. This is not, however, to say that Eve hasn't loved anyone or cared for them deeply - she simply doesn't express her feelings well in words or trite displays of affection. Eve is moreso the type to express her affection by coming to all your football games, even if you warm the bench most the game or helping your father chop firewood.
(..While your younger sister heckles you that your girlfriend is manlier than you are.) One lucky ex did receive a handmade ring, with the gruff explanation that "Girls are supposed to like that sort of thing."
Seemingly Insensitive; If you just broke up with your boyfriend, Eve is not the woman to go to if you're looking for a shoulder to cry on and someone to commiserate about the evils of men with. In fact, she's likely to point out that he's been cheating on you and probably spared you a painful case of crabs by dumping you. Eve is incredibly uncomfortable with dealing with what she deems "girly emotions" - things such as heartbreak, longing, depression, and self-doubt. She has a tendency to try
to make
these undesirable situations go away by offering what she sees as the obvious solution to a situation rather than providing the more likely sought after sympathy and this makes her come off as very callous. Should the recipient of said advice not welcome it with open arms, she tends to get defensive and frustrated, which often involves being snippy about why they came to her in the first place. In general, Eve would much rather deal with a mopping girl by taking her out clubbing - the less Eve has to deal with
'being in touch with her feelings', the better.
Confident; It may seem bewildering that Eve has any friends at all, but her blunt practicality is only one facet of her personality. In truth, Eve is quite certain of herself and comfortable with who she is and while she isn't one to stand grinning in the spot light with a flock of fans, this is something that is easily picked up by others and often found appealing. While not one to enjoy the limelight, she certainly isn't shy; she easily approaches strangers if need be, though she isn't so much of
a social butterfly that she would approach someone for the express purpose of chatting them up. Still, despite her social shortcomings, she manages to maintain a loose circle of friends and though she may be decidedly rough around the edges and lacking in some charm and personability, she can be pleasant company.
Stubbornly Passionate; It might seem at odds with her practicality and dislike of obsessing over feelings, but Eve is definitely a passionate person. Along with her confidence, there is a clearly apparant vitality about her. While she isn't bouncy and cheerful, she has a definite fierceness about her. Eve is the sort of person who feels that if she wants something, then it's up to her to go out and get it. Though she seems so ready to pass out advice, she doesn't take it well herself if it conflicts
with what she wants. This led to a serious dispute between Eve and her grandfather prior to her arrival at college, as he very adamantly felt that majoring in art was going to be worthless. Despite his wishes, Eve remained defiant as is apparent by where she is today. Eve can be quite arguementative, though getting into disputes with her is often pointless, as she tends to be very bull-headed about clinging to her viewpoint, even if it's a very unpopular one.
Sensitive; Despite the way she acts, Eve herself is rather sensitive. Most obviously this is seen in how easily she becomes defensive when someone takes offense to her behavior. She is similarly easy to put on the defensive when it comes to criticism of her artwork, which she has a difficult time stepping away from and looking at objectively. Somewhat less obvious is Eve's self-consciousness about her leg. Though there is little she can do to hide her limp (while she'll join the girls out clubbing,
she adamantly refuses to dance), she still shies away from exposing the scar on her leg publicly. While she has become less self-conscious about it thanks to highschool gym classes and the like, she's still uncomfortable with the idea of wearing skirts and dresses that aren't full-length because of it.
Man Around The House; When something breaks around the dorm, before a service report is filed and you're left hoping and praying the OSU maintenance guys will actually show up, the solution is "Get Eve!" While often the problem is beyond her help ("Exactly how did you get a never ending flushing toilet?"), she still has a far more impressive record than simply kicking at it yourself. Eve is always willing to get in there and try as mechanical problems fascinate her - to the point
that she will put aside writing that important paper so she can bang around your bathroom. Likewise Eve is turned to when dealing with various icky creepy crawlies that find their way indoors.
Compassionate; It might seem as if Eve has little redeeming value in her character. She's critical in her practicality, she's stupidly stubborn, and she's brusque. Still, despite all this, Eve isn't a lost cause. Though a terrible shoulder to cry on, Eve is a compassionate person. Though she has a hard time showing it, she cares a lot about her friends. This is seen not only in standing up for them, but also a lot of awkward asking after their health, etc. Being told "You don't
look terrible" is Eve's twisted way of paying a compliment and letting someone know she cares. Because, you know, just saying someone looks nice would be far too difficult.
Hair; Ever one for practicality, Eve keeps her hair in a short, choppy bob cut. Though her general appearance comes off as rather low maintainance, she does spend a fair amount of time styling her bangs to one side and gelling the whole thing into a casually messy look. Naturally an unexciting dark brown, Eve's deep auburn hair comes straight from a bottle.
Facial Details; It's a tie between Eve's eyes and her nose for most noticeable facial feature. Her eyes are typically rounded, but the color is a striking dark red-orange. On the other hand, her already large nose seems oddly shaped along the bridge, which is the result of having broken it as a child. In addition, her jawline is rather angular and masculine with a bluntly shaped chin and a significant scar on the right side from falling off her bicycle and cracking her chin
open. Her eyebrows are on the thick side and have been said to be rather expressive. Though tomboyish, Eve is still appearance conscious and regularly wears light makeup along with a tasteful amount of brown eyeliner.
Build; Eve stands approximately five feet six inches tall, placing her on the slightly taller side of an average female. She is quite slender and received a few anorexic comments back during the incredibly image conscious middle school years, mostly due to the fact that her chest size is about an A minus minus minus and she's about as curvy as a ruler. Despite the catty comments of her peers, Eve is not so thin to the point that she is bony (and the Freshmen 15 helped her fill out some).
Her build is simply very boyish, with broad shoulders, a wider rib cage and thinner hips. In addition she has a strong upper body with well sculpted arms. Her entire body is covered in various scars and her left leg is particularly disfigured with a very long scar running down her thigh. No one has a clue what her father's heritage was and Eve's coloring doesn't give any hints - her skin is light with an olive cast to it and she tans rather intensely in the summer.
Mode of Dress; Eve is not afraid to wear feminine clothing as long as it isn't pink or too heavy on the ruffles. She is fond of indulging in the occasional lace, delicate fabrics, and feminine patterns, though the majority of her wardrobe is moreso lazy college student fare - thus a lot of neutral colored tank tops in the warmer months and zippered hoodies in the winter as well as blue jeans year round. Though she often feels a silly desire to wear skirts or dresses, her
reticence to expose her leg always wins out. In the event she does wish to look nice, she does have some tops that are more stylized and look like they could come out of an Urban Outfitters catalog. Most of the time, however, she looks softly masculine.
Other Details; Eve has a very noticeable limp. While it doesn't hinder her that terribly, she definitely does not look graceful when she moves around. She is also a nail biter, thus her nails are generally ragged and the idea of nail polish would horrify her no matter what length her nails were. Her voice is a smooth alto, though she has no musical qualities at all to boast about and generally speaks in a gruff manner. She has a rather strong Pittsburgh accent, though she usually
avoids slipping into Pittsburghese.
Gianna Martelli spent nine months being incredibly enamoured with the idea of being a mother. A large portion of her meager paycheck went to buying all sorts of frilly and lacy designer baby clothes that her still four-months-to-go daughter would grow out of within a month and when she was evicted from her apartment for failure to pay rent, she moved back in with her parents who seemed, for the most part, more than happy to dote on her as they bragged to their neighbors about their future grandchild. As it may
be gathered there was no Mr. Martelli and the father of Gianna's child might as well have been the milk man, though she preferred to tell everyone he was a tall, dark, handsome, and rich jet-setting businessman that she had met in a bar one night.
Once Eve was actually born, Gianna quickly realized that motherhood was more than just an elaborate game of babydoll dress-up. She began dumping the baby off on her parents with an alarming frequency until finally one day she simply didn't come back.
While her grandparents were not at all prepared to raise another child, there was no way they were going to put the baby up for adoption and thus they were saddled with the task of raising young Eve. Though it had been quite a few years since their youngest of five had been in diapers, everything came back quickly and aside from the rocky start, Eve's earliest years went on without much issue. From the beginning it was apparant that despite her grandmother's best efforts, she had no interest in playing with
dolls and tended to tantrum whenever they tried to clip an overly cutesy bow into her thin head of hair. She was far more interested in anything that ended in the word 'truck', be it fire, dump, or pick-up.
Much of Eve's childhood was spent indoors. This wasn't for lack of her grandparent's trying or really for Eve's dislike of the outdoors. Though nothing critical, Eve was generally a 'sickly child' and had a difficult time keeping up with the other neighborhood children. Unsurprisingly this resulted in a bunch of children that didn't want to have much to do with Eve, since she was more of a liability than an asset, and the gang leader didn't compassionaltely take her under his wing, like in the movies. Thus
while the neighborhood kids played kickball in the middle of the street, Eve was left with entertaining herself in a less physically exerting fashion.
Under her grandfather's guidance, Eve had taken up the hammer and nails from an early age and she could happily sit around in the garage for hours, hammering pieces of wood together and creating a variety of vehicles - submarine, race car, and otherwise - that looked nothing like they were intended... but that submarine did have a rather convenient diving board! Eve enjoyed watching her grandfather work in the garage, who frequently tinkered around with repairing old cars or pieces of scrap metal he brought
home from work, and most of her free time was spent in her grandparent's garage - much of it unsupervised, as the child had enough common sense not to go playing with the jigsaw.
Perhaps her grandparents should have kept a more watchful eye over her though as accidents are bound to happen. Roughly ten at the time, Eve was playing in the garage by herself and decided that she needed something that was on a shelf just out of reach. Rather than going inside and asking for assistance, she attempted to climb the set of shelves to reach the desired object. As she climbed, her weight caused the shelving unit to fall on top of her and the rather loud impacting sound alerted her grandparents
indoors. Unsurprisingly Eve was crying both in pain and panic while the unit was being lifted off of her and it was clear she was going to have some bruises in the morning. Bruises were the least of Eve's concern though, as a piece of scrap metal has sliced and lodged itself in her left thigh, which was now bleeding profusely.
Having raised five children already, Eve's grandmother had never been too concerned with her general sickliness and heavy bleeding wasn't about to rattle her either. They got the wound cleaned up and butterflied it shut, insisting that if they actually took Eve to the hospital, they'd just waste a bunch of time for the doctor's to do essentially the same thing. When Eve complained that her leg hurt to walk on, they assumed it was just lingering pain from the cut and tossed a few painkillers down her throat.
After a week of continued complaints, they finally took Eve to see a doctor who informed them that Eve's leg had been broken during the accident and that he would set it as best he could. When everything did finally heal, Eve was left with a scar and a slight limp as reminders of the incident.
The next handful of years of Eve's life were far less eventful. While the limp did little to help her cause for playing with the other neighborhood kids, as she grew older she seemed to slowly get over her sickly nature and while she was hardly set to be the next athletic superstar, she was at least now on par with the other non athletes in her class. Not that Eve cared much, as sports just weren't her thing - having her nose broken by a baseball during gym class didn't help. Instead she had shown an early
aptitude for art - at least, the kinds she could put her hands around.
While Eve's drawing skills left a lot to be desired (and unfortunately most school art projects seemed to revolve around drawing or painting skills), her three-dimensional work quickly gained her recognition and as she progressed through school, she enrolled in more and more art classes, broadening her skills to include ceramics, jewelry, wood working, and eventually metal work. Though the boys initially gave her a hard time when she arrived in Shop class, her ability to keep up with (and frequently surpass)
what they were doing eventually earned her their respect - and really, Eve was hardly a girl. Eve was just.. Eve.
Though cared for and raised by her grandparents, Gianna Martelli was in and out of Eve's life enough for her to know who the woman was. Gianna's abrupt arrival into their lives was always seen as a mixed blessing. In Eve's younger years she waited around and frequently asked her grandmother when her mother would visit next, delighting when the woman would finally come through the door and inevitably would be heartbroken when she disappeared just as easily. As she grew older, Eve came to understand the situation
much better and with this came a deep resentment for the woman she knew hardly anything about - except that she had never seen her mother walk through the door with the same man twice.
When Eve was sixteen and shortly after winning a prestigious local art award that was highly publicized in the newspapers, Gianna arrived in the Martelli household once again. As usual there was a new man at her side, but unlike every other time Gianna had arrived, this time she had come to "bring Eve home and startover". Gianna had always had a way with fancy words and all of her talk about building a family drew Eve in and she was soon packing her bags and moving into an apartment with her mother
and her mother's flavor of the week. As was always the case with Gianna, the fairytale quickly fell apart and relations between Eve and her mother's boyfriend were very poor. Beyond simply having a bad attitude, the boyfriend had a violent streak and hit Gianna in front of Eve on more than one occasion. Eve finally came between the two one evening, trying to fight back against the man, but she was obviously no match for a grown male. Furious, the boyfriend set an ultimatum to Gianna - it was either him or
Eve. Gianna made her choice and it was Eve that was sent packing and home to her grandparents. Despite her grandparents' prodding, she refused to speak about what had happened to bring her back home.
As with all teens, the college selection process was a difficult one in the Martelli household. Most of Eve's aunts and uncles had only attended technical school and her grandfather was convinced that she would make a fine Mechanical Engineering Technician. Eve, on the other hand, wished to pursue her art skills on a collegiate level. There was a considerable amount of yelling back and forth over the subject, as a result, with her grandfather convinced that she was going to waste her life as a starving artist
and Eve convinced that she would never be satisfied if she followed her grandfather's wishes. Told that he wouldn't financially support her pursuit of 'drawing fluffy clouds and dressing in all black', Eve went ahead anyway and applied to as many schools that offered the program she was interested in. Though accepted to quite a few, in the end her choice was monetarily-driven and after scholarships were applied OSU was the most affordable despite being out-of-state. As she left for Ohio with some considerable
loans in her name, her grandfather begrudgingly gave her his blessing and reluctantly offered her whatever remaining assistance she needed.
Eve's first year at OSU went by typically for a freshmen, filled with all sorts of dorm and relationship dramas, not-entirely-sober adventures, and a lot of fucking homework. By the end she had gained admittance into the B.A. in Arts program despite the multiple times she came close to drawing a bunch of stick figures and turning it in for homework. Eve spent the summer home in Pittsburgh, hanging out with friends, and visiting Kennywood a couple times and now she's ready to rinse, lather, and repeat the last
school year. She has yet to receive any letters, but one is bound to find her mail slot eventually.

Alignment Mythos
Name Sailor Hephaestus Elements of Influence Weaponry, Metal, Vulcanism, Metalworking, Fire, Building, Sculpture
Symbol See here. This sign, according to Diderot's Encyclopedia means
forge or heat
oven.
Challenge "Even the strongest metals can be broken. Don't get cocky." (Seems to be directed at everyone in general.)
Locket Hephaestus' locket appears to be a piece of coal. When transformed, it glows a vibrant yellow-orange as if it were being heated. The shape is a simple circle.
Primary/Secondary Color Scheme
Black / Copper
Uniform
See the picture.
Hair; While still not Eve's natural hair color, when she transforms her hair lightens to a medium-light auburn.
Laurels; Hephaestus' laurels appear to be chips of iron arranged into a pair of laurels. The tips are reddish-orange, as if they're being heated.
Choker; A thin belt fastens around her neck. It's made out of brown leather and trimmed in tarnished gold.
Shoulder Pads; Made up of two armor pieces, the bottom piece is a sphere which then briefly flares decoratively and comes to a point. It's made of tarnished gold. The overpiece is made of copper and shaped like an arrowhead.
Gloves; Black fingerless gloves that come up just short of her elbows are worn underneath protective bracers. The bracers are made of a flap that protects the tops of her hands while allowing her fingers full freedom of movement and a piece that wraps around her forearms and is made up of conical shapes. The bracers are made of tarnished gold with copper accenting.
Mini Dress; Hephy's mini dress is in her primary black, however the ends appear to constantly be on fire, though magical properties prevent the entire dress from burning up. Ash falls from the burnt ends.
Satchel; When her hammer is not in use, Hephy stores it in her waist satchel. The pocket rests on her left hip and is about six inches deep. The strap is long enough for her to wear the satchel like a purse and, like the choker, it is made on a thin belt. The whole thing is made of brown leather trimmed in tarnished gold.
Left Leg; Hephy wears a piece of armor that covers her leg from foot to mid-thigh. It's made of tarnished gold and accented with copper. It is jointed in such a way as not to restrict her freedom of movement. (I have already agonized over just describing the shoulder pieces, so for the legs, I am going to beg you to just look at the picture.) Underneath the leg armor, Hephaestus wears a bronze colored thigh-high. The thigh-high is held in place by a garter made of both
tarnished gold and copper twists.
Right Leg; The elaborate leg armor from the left leg has been cut down so it just covers her ankle.
Other Details; Sailor Hephaestus' skin and uniform are both covered in sooty patches.
Transformation
Hephaestus opens her transformation locket and an impressive burst of sparks fly out as a faint clanking of hammer on metal can be heard in the background. As she leans back, dark particles fly at her from all directions until her silouette has been blackened out, presumably having been encased in a light layer of ore. A small flame flickers at her feet, spitting flames a few times before growing large enough to engulf her, at which point it quickly fades away. The heated ore now glows a bright orange
and suddenly cracks. Pieces break off, scattering to the ground and turning to ash, revealing a fully costumed Sailor Hephaestus underneath. The locket has now changed from coal gray to a glowing coal.
Signature Attack Tauroi Khalkeoi;
Hephaestus' hammer impacts with the ground which seems to briefly tear open, exposing the earth's fiery insides, and a pair of bulls fight their way to the surface after which the ground promptly reseals itself. These bulls are rather hulking creatures and their skin appears to be a patchwork of different metals with hooves made of bronze. The bulls charge on their target, breathing fire as they stampede.
Despite the impressive (and likely terrifying) imagery, this attack is at its core a standard energy attack. The attack collides with its target and moves right through it, rapidly disappearing into nothingness. The attack is relatively damaging, though has growth potential with power-ups. Those hit by the attack may be left for a couple days with a sensation that they've touched something too hot. This attack can be deflected and dodged in the typical manner. It is a fire-aligned attack, thus weaker against
those with fire resistances. This attack can be used up to three times in a twenty-four hour period, but no more than once in a half hour period.
Though simply energy at Hephaestus' command, there is the rare possibility that the bulls do not run for their intended target and instead veer and attack something else instead. The bulls can be likened to automatons and sometimes malfunctions occur.
Second Power Idea; (Based on the entrapment of Aphrodite and Ares). Magical sparkly poo attack that ends in a circle being drawn on the ground. The immediate effect is not apparant. Hephaestus goes through the moves and then... nothing seems to happen. However, if anyone walks through the area of effect, the trap is triggered and chains made of "gossamer-light and invisible to the blessed gods themselves" shoot out from the ground, ensnaring whoever was unfortunate enough to trigger it.
The attack does seem to recognize the difference in weight between
a human and a mouse, so don't worry about the poor little meeses.
Special Skills/Traits
Don't you ever bathe?!; Well, yes, but this doesn't seem to help much. Sailor Hephaestus is not only herself stained in soot, but everything her skin touches while in sailor form seems to be left with a sooty residue as well, making it incredibly easy to track where she's been. The soot also seems to be rather stubborn to cleaning, so it's probably a good thing she keeps her hands mostly covered. (Just don't let her sit on the furniture!)
Hoplite Aphrodite is likely one of the few people/things immune to this. The white portions of Hephaestus' uniform also seem to be oddly resistant to the staining.
Irresistably Attractive; Like many metals, Sailor Hephaestus displays a magnetic quality. The magnetic field that she puts out is currently not terribly strong or expansive, so despite her size she is not a walking super magnet, but alphabet magnets and other small particles will be attracted to her. This magnetic pull is capable of being turned on and off, but it might take getting attached to a nearby fridge a few times for her to get things under control. As she grows in power, this
skill should prove useful for getting metal things just out of reach. However, considering how many metal things have sharp pointy edges, she's going to have to be careful. At the moment she can only attract objects, but with future power-ups she may gain the ability to reverse her polarity.
Power-up ideas; breathing life into metal, upgrading weapons, weakening metal
Weapon
Hephaestus carries a small mallet in her tool bag that can extend in length and be used as a weapon. The handle becomes very long and thin, making the weapon look more like an overly long croquet mallet. The actual length is approximately to her waist. The mallet is dark bronze in color with gold rings adorning the head and handle. The handle is made of wood while the head is made of metal.
When Hephaestus strikes a surface with the mallet, a flurry of sparks shoot forth, like a blacksmith hitting a piece of heated metal.
